Diploma In Fashion Design

One of my aspirations is to give back to the people who helped me become who I am today. Apart from that, my aspiration in life is to truly be happy. However, regarding fashion and arts in general, my aspiration would be to leave an everlasting imprint on whoever that comes across my creations. I want to be able to have some form of impact -hopefully positive- on other people’s lives.
After I graduate, besides pursuing a future in the fashion industry, I would like to start writing. It has always been a passion of mine to express myself in other creative ways and I feel that by indulging in writing, I would be able to do so. Other than that, I want to be able to widen my knowledge and perspective of art in general. I don’t want to be deemed as a fashion designer because I don’t want to confine my ideas specifically into that field. I want to be able to express and convert my ideas along with things like my past experiences into stories, short films, fashion as well as other forms of art.

For my collection Hati Rindu i was to focus on the flowy texture of fabric. To me, it symbolizes water always finding its way back to sea no matter how many obstacles stand in its way. I thought of this by drawing inspiration from my grandpa, whose warm aura and attitude showed me that noting was unachievable and too hard to search. Since my collection, hati rindu is dedicated to the memory of my revered grandpa when I remember vividly, due to his wisdom and perseverance, the colour white is prominently featured in my design. The colour white to me signifies being susceptible to change. The numerous possibilites of variation that white provides epitomizes the ability to brodden ones mind and be willing to think deep and wide so as to achieve a more colourful perspective of life.
